Going Beyond the Call
While one person was at the scene of Ward Trucking
Company’s fire, the second person was back at
the office starting the paperwork. According to Ward
Trucking, NexTier cares and provides an immediate response,
no matter what time of day or night they call. They
added that NexTier educated them on different types
of insurance programs and options, allowing Ward Trucking
to save millions annually through better management
of their risks.
That management includes a weeklong “Safety Safari”
that the company and NexTier conduct jointly at three
to four Ward locations each year. During these trips,
the team searches the entire facility for workplace
hazards, talks with every employee on every shift, and
conducts safety training. The result is improvements
to equipment and processes, with findings shared among
other Ward facilities.
“We sometimes find ourselves turning to them
for things that are outside the insurance realm because
of their broad knowledge and experience,” said
Dan Dillen, Ward’s director of risk management.
“NexTier’s employees are personally committed
to whatever needs to be done.”
